The Teachers are here, Yah!

Before the teachers arrived we did another once over of the lighthouse.  This is FeeBee resting from sweeping the rug in her parlor.

We had a little time to wait for the Cake and Ice Cream to arrive so Susie pulled out the front door screen and got a little more green paint on it.  This door takes a long process for sanding, Kilzing and several coats of paint to get it ready for the winter storms.

After we had lunch the teachers went right into their workshops.  After introductions Forrest conducted his class on making quill pens out of our sea gull feathers.  That is what they are all  doing in these next two pictures.

Back to class as Michele explains the history and modern day commerce on our Great Lakes.  This is our boat house classroom.  We all prefer the outside but some times that Island Breeze while cooling us also pushes us inside.

This is Cake and Ice Cream moored outside our little harbor.  Captain Dick is spending the week with us, thus we get to see more of the Cake and Ice Cream.  That is the Mackinac Bridge behind it.

We also took Sharon back to Mackinaw City and upon our return we passed in between two down bound freighters.   This is a picture of the first from the back deck of the Cake and Ice Cream with the Mackinac Bridge behind it.  That is our deck bell in the foreground.

The breakfast bell has wrong so I better get going.  The keepers of St. Helena Light Station.
