On the Island for the summer!

We left Mackinaw City about 10:30am and were on the Island before noon.  The rain that had been falling all week was gone this morning and something we have not been too familiar with these past few weeks, the sun was bright with few clouds in the sky.

Dick brought one group of Boy Scouts in first thing this morning and we were catching a ride back out for his second trip.  We have four guest/volunteers for the next few days.  Once the Scouts had all their luggage, etc. loaded and folks aboard we let them loose from the mooring.  Then it was back into the small harbor and just the six of us.

While Susie and I got things unpacked the other four went out to inspect the condition of the trail that Tim and company opened up last summer.  They came back deciding that in the morning the four of them would head out to extend the trail and we were to bring them lunch.  We could have a picnic.

Tonight after dishes were washed and put away we all sat in front of the "big screen T.V." and watched as the young merganser males danced for the females.  The swans were bottom up getting something good to eat.

The other four headed up the tower stairs to watch the sun set in the west.  A beautiful day on our Island.

  1. I'm wondering how you are writing your blog. Does that mean you have some way to power a computer where you are?

  2. I Love our "big Screen TV"! I miss not having the bridge channel, fireworks channel, freighter channel, etc, on my TV at home.
