The bench problem has been solved. What bench problem? We have two benches and three places folks believe there should be benches. Thus the benches have a tendency to walk from one of these places to another. Well, yesterday, our wonderful construction crew solved the bench problem. They made an additional bench. What a bench it is. This is Misa Gander standing next to the new bench on the dock, waiting for visitors.
Notice the carving of our favorite place. St. Helena, Island Dream. Below are the bench testers. The front row are the creators of the bench and the back row are the "don't you think it might be better if you did it this way" folks. But it is obvious that this bench is built to take anything. Thanks, bench guys.We are estimating that the seasons are almost one full month behind last years, especially with the arrival of summer. We have these little tiny strawberries all through out the wild flowers in the open spaces around us.
Susie returned to the Island yesterday as Keeper Jane went into the mainland. This morning the Zodiac was sent to retrieve Keeper Jane. I am sitting on the dock as the ground fog from the U.P. has started to cross the water towards us. I expect them to come out of the fog at any minute.
This is the dishwashing crew cleaning up after dinner last night as we do after most meals around here. You can see everybody pitches in to clean up before we are off to the big screen T.V.
These days we have watched many a Canada goose family come out of the weeds around our inlet. We have also had a wonderful show of the spanning of the carp on the grassy edge of our inlet. Life at St. Helena is great.
